Carol Chen, MSW, ASW

Carol Chen, MSW (Master’s of Social Work), ASW (Associate Social Worker)

Carol attended San Jose State for her Bachelor’s in Social Work and interned at community service agency, where she worked with adults and families on family stabilization and self- sufficiency (maintaining family functioning). During her spare time, she volunteered on the leadership team of her college ministry. Carol then went on to Azusa Pacific University and received her Master’s in Social Work. With a passion for youth and young adults, Carol interned at a junior high school providing counseling to students that faced challenges such as, (social) anxiety, transitions, drug abuse, and depression. Carol also developed and facilitated a peer pressure intervention group and a self-esteem group to assist students who were struggling.
Currently, Carol works with a diverse population of families and young adults who are in the child welfare system. She collaborates with different service providers to address family conflict, mental health issues, substance abuse, and other barriers. In her spare time, Carol volunteers at functions that serve foster youths and their families. Carol also loves to travel and spent a year in Japan teaching English to high school students.  
Nancy Chau, MFTI

Nancy Chau, MA, MFTI (Marriage and Family  Therapist Intern)

Nancy received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from University of California-Davis, 2010, and her Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from Palo Alto University, 2014. She works delivering counseling and therapeutic services to clients of all ages from 4 and above. She has the most experience working with teenagers who generally experience symptoms of depression, disruptive behaviors, other behavior issues, and a plethora of other mental health conditions.

Her previous and present experiences include:
Grief, Anger and Substance Abuse groups at The Bill Wilson Center
Mental health counselor at Asian American for Community Involvement (AACI)
Group home counselor for teenage boys
Behavior therapist for children with Autism,
Teenage Counselor at The Bill Wilson Center
Elementary school tutor
Homeless shelter volunteer

Nancy is passionate for social change and holds a deep belief in the innate goodness of people which has influenced her to pursue a career in the mental health work profession. As a present and future mental health care provider, her goal is to provide guidance and support to individuals who are experiencing mental health symptoms to alleviate their symptoms and increase their daily functioning on a one-on-one basis.

Nancy enjoys staying in doors watching television shows with a nice warm cup of tea during the winter and hiking during the summer.
